Calcium is important for bones and teeth formation, heartbeat regulation, nerve transmission, and neuromuscular activity. It also plays a role in blood clotting, cell membrane maintenance, and the activation of enzymes, including lipase. Cal-Assimilate Plus® by Klaire Laboratories® contains calcium in three forms: microcrystalline hydroxyapatite, a natural whole bone mineral; calcium citrate, a bioavailable, readliy soluble form of calcium; and tricalcium phosphate, a major constituent of the bone matrix. Two forms of magnesium, plus and other key minerals and vitamin D, are included to assist in optimal calcium absorption and metabolism.
